The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) team is seeking devoted parishioners, who can accompany a candidate through the RCIA formation process. By becoming a sponsor, you serve as a spiritual mentor/friend providing companionship, encouragement, support and assistance to connect the RCIA candidates with the parish community, and offer an example of the Catholic way of life.

Fr. Philip Wilhite, Pastor
Fr. Philip Wilhite at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, TX is inviting individuals and families to join a home-based Divine Mercy Cenacle, in English or Spanish. As part of this home prayer group, you can bring the Divine Mercy Message and Devotion to a hurting world.  You do NOT need to belong to Sacred Heart Catholic Church to join these Cenacles.  Fr. Philip is the Spiritual Director of these Cenacles and will be inviting us to a quarterly Mass to unite all Cenacles, followed by fellowship.  Divine Mercy Cenacles are worldwide and are an apostolate of the Marian Fathers.
(1) Join a PRAYER Cenacle with your own domestic family or with your friends;
(2) Become a Leader to a Cenacle, which is very simple to do;
(3) Volunteer your home to host a Cenacle.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This August 7th will be our first Wednesday to offer Mass, both morning and evening, ad orientem- with the priest and people facing east together during the Liturgy of the Eucharist and the prayers addressed to God. As I’ve stated before, this Liturgical posture in worship, like that of the priest facing the people, is approved by the Church and permitted. I’ve decided, for pastoral reasons, to begin this celebration in our parish to meet the spiritual needs of those who feel drawn to worship God in this form. Because our Churches today aren’t all constructed with the congregation facing east - ad orientem takes on a dual significance - the literal, facing east or simply the priest and people facing in the same direction.
